What is the John Rowe Show?
The John Rowe Show is a night of non-stop entertainment in John Rowe’s living room, featuring your ever-likeable host, John Rowe, and the band he has managed to fit in somewhere between the lounge and the lamp-shade. When visitors pop by, John pulls out all the stops to keep them entertained with a haphazard mix of groovy live music, sing-alongs, daggy dancing, hilarious chat-chat, show & tell, silly fun & games… and donuts! Plus, you’ll never know who might ring the door bell and pop in for a cuppa and a laugh. Every show is different and unpredictable... even John barely knows what will happen next, especially after an overdose of pink icing!
"Not-so-carefully treading that fine line between kitsch and kool, the John Rowe Show is a totally unique feel-good night of fun like no other. It’s part band gig, part comedy, part cabaret, part game show, part late night talk show – all held together by the affable John Rowe who makes everyone feel at home like a musical Graham Norton!"

It's a party in John Rowe's lounge room! John and his band pump out some cool tunes to keep the party grooving: a feel-good mix of pop/rock, groove, and RnB faves, both old school and current. An in between tunes, John jumps on the lounge for some chit chat and spontaneous fun.. There’s never a dull moment as he leaps enthusiastically from one idea to the next with seemingly gay abandon. One minute he’s sharing his excitement about a $2 thrift shop panpipe album, and next he’s with Stef at the piano making up a spontaneous song from an article in a local trash/gossip mag. Or perhaps tonight he’ll flick through some of the world’s worst album covers – and maybe even re-create one on stage with the help of some willing visitors and his iPhone.

One thing’s for sure… it’s not going to be a sit-still experience for the audience as John pulls out his authentic 70's “Guide to Disco Dancing” for a quick lesson, or splits the room up for a rousing round of Choir-e-oke, or preparing them for their big air guitar solo in the pop ballad . Lucky they have donuts to keep up their energy!
